Floris Delee
WEI humbly welcomes Floris Delée as our Nominated Educator for the WSET Awards in Beer. One of the first graduates selected for this program, Floris is an unmatched titan in the beer industry and we are so excited to have his skillset, and wonderfully contagious, positive energy for our students and fellow educators.
Floris is an entrepeneur, founding Kathinka Engineering, where he consulted and managed brewery construction and oversight on multiple continents. Household names like Avery brewery in Colorado; the second New Belgium brewery in North Carolina; the Russian River brewery in California; Karbach Brewery in Texas as well as projects in Panama, Honduras, and Chile. Floris also served as the Technical Director of New Belgium Brewery responsible for the design and development of Brewery Master Plans in Fort Collins and execution of first phases of the brewery expansion. Prior to that, Floris designed and built the new brewery for the Belize Brewing Company and before that he was a Brewing Engineer for the Anton Steinecker Maschinenfabrik, GmbH where he led new brew house projects across the Americas.
Floris received his degree in Industrial Engineering from Katholieke Industriele Hogeschool in Belgium. He not only heads up our WSET Beer programs, he's actively working through WSET Spirits and Wine certifications while also teaching Brewing Science and Technology, at Colorado State University's Fermentation Science and Technology Program. Floris speaks English, German, Spanish and Flemish. Yep, this is actually a single human and an all around great guy. Again, we are so excited to have him with us!
